Cowboys News · Chino Varsity Track Advance to CIF Division 2 Finals

The Chino track girls have been on fire all season. Now they are heading to Division 2 finals after an outstanding performance in last weekend’s powerhouse meet with the fastest girls in the country. CIF has four divisions in track and field D1, D2, D3, and D4 – this is based on school size. Chino high school is in division 2. Many of the state finalist from last year are in division 2, but Chino girls held their own. Now they are in the top 9 in Division 2 southern section. This is a major honor and achievement.

The following female athletes should be congratulated and cheered on.

Mia Chavez 9th grade advanced in 800m and 1600m

Leila Liggins 12th grade advance in 100m

Valeia Payne 11th grade advanced in 200m and 400m

CIF Division 2 finals are this Saturday May 11, 2019 at El Camino college. Meet time is at 12.

The young women have class and talent. They are all looking to run faster than last weekend and achieve personal best or a PR. They represent Chino High and the Chino Community.
