Cowboys News · Chino Girls Varsity Track Among top 10 in CIF – SS State rankings.

Chino girls are ranked number 8 in the entire CIF -SS.

They will advance to CIF division 2 finals this Saturday May 11, 2019 at El Camino College. Any one of the top 10 teams could claim the division 2 title as all have power house athletes. Chino has a serious chance with their multiple distance and sprint arsenal of athletes.

Mia Chavez a powerful 9th grader advanced in 800m (2:13 best) and 1600m (5:08 best)

Leila Liggins a strong and confident 12th grader advanced in 100m (11.8 best)

Valeia Payne a serious and focused 11th grader advanced in 200m (24.89 best)  and 400m (55.05 best)

*Please note the above times are a combination of  FAT and HT. But they all have the ability to go faster.

Chino High School also has a new Principal, John Miller that was a former high school and collegiate athlete. He prides his school on academics and sports.  The Athletic Director, Michael Hinkle, is very proud of the girls Varsity Track team and has been instrumental in hiring a new Head Track Coach Danny Colton, MD “Doc” two years ago. Chino is now on the map and a serious contender. Not only in Track but other sports as well.


Chino Track and field program is accepting donations from alumni and supporters.
