Buzz. It’s the sound you here around Chino High School these days. That sounds doesn’t refer to all the noise around the new high school being built, it’s from the sound the tennis balls made when the Girls JV Tennis Team took 1st Place in the Etiwanda Tournament over the weekend.
“We have been in the this tourney for the past 12 years and this is the first time we have won it!”, Head Coach Michael Hinkle said after an exhilarating number of matches that led to this amazing victory for the Tennis Program. “I am so proud of our JV and all of girls on our team,” Coach Hinkle continued.
It’s been a great season of sorts for all sports at Chino High School. There seems to be a new vibrancy that is effecting all of the sports programs. Coach Hinkle who is not only the Tennis Coach, also serves as the Athletic Director. With Phase 0.5 complete of The Measure G Improvements, and Phase 1 about to start, he has been putting together a “Super Team” of New Coaches for various different vacancies that have occurred over the last year. With the hirings of these new coaches, all the Fall Sports are off to a hot start including his own Tennis Program. The girls are extremely excited as many have said this is the best team they have had in a while and can’t wait to see how this season goes.
Not only are the athletes full of anticipation, but Cowboy Country is excited to see what happens as well. Come out and support the Girls Tennis Team. The team’s schedule of games is available on ChinoHighAthletics.com
